A Policy brief addresses The Impact of War on Civil Society Organizations in Marib

A policy brief about “The Impact of War on Civil Society Organizations in Marib”,
written by the founders of Musaala Organization for Human Rights : Mahdi Balghith & Sadam Aladwar address the rise of local #CSOs in #Marib governorate between 2015 and 2020, focusing on the impact of the war on their internal and external working environment and on their activities and performance.

Marib has stood out as the main engine of #Yemen’s economy in recent decades. However, despite its oil and gas wealth, it remained poor due to a policy of marginalization adopted by the late president Saleh, depriving it of basic infrastructure, development and economic projects.

This policy brief presents the views of various key stakeholders in Marib’s #civil_society and the challenges they faced and makes recommendations to improve the work of CSOs and their access to cooperation and partnership opportunities with INGOs both in #wartime and after.
